يفتتح المنتخب السعودي الأول لكرة اليد اليوم (الخميس)، مشاركته في البطولة الآسيوية الـ22، المؤهلة إلى «بطولة العالم 2027» بجمهورية ألمانيا، عندما يواجه منتخب إيران، على صالة مجمع الشيخ سعد العبدالله للألعاب الرياضية بدولة الكويت، ضمن منافسات المجموعة (D) من البطولة التي يشارك فيها (15) منتخباً آسيوياً.
وتضم مجموعة الأخضر، منتخبات إيران واليابان وأستراليا، ويسعى المنتخب السعودي لتحقيق انطلاقة إيجابية تعزز حظوظه في المنافسة على بطاقات التأهل إلى الدور الرئيسي، بعد مواجهتَي اليابان وأستراليا السبت والإثنين القادمين.
وكان المنتخب السعودي قد أنهى برنامجاً إعدادياً متكاملاً للحدث القاري، تضمن ستّ مراحل إعدادية، شملت معسكرات داخلية ركزت على الجوانب البدنية والفنية، إضافة إلى معسكر خارجي أسهم في رفع مستوى الانسجام واكتساب الاحتكاك الدولي، إلى جانب خوض عدد من المباريات الدولية الودية التي هدفت إلى اختبار الخطط الفنية والوقوف على جاهزية اللاعبين.
The Saudi national handball team will kick off its participation in the 22nd Asian Championship today (Thursday), which qualifies for the “2027 World Championship” in the Federal Republic of Germany, when it faces the Iranian team at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex in Kuwait, as part of Group (D) of the tournament that features (15) Asian teams.
The green group includes the teams of Iran, Japan, and Australia, and the Saudi team aims to achieve a positive start that enhances its chances of competing for qualification spots to the main round, following matches against Japan and Australia on Saturday and Monday respectively.
The Saudi team has completed a comprehensive preparation program for the continental event, which included six preparatory stages, featuring internal camps that focused on physical and technical aspects, in addition to an external camp that contributed to improving team cohesion and gaining international exposure, along with playing a number of friendly international matches aimed at testing technical plans and assessing player readiness.
