أكد عضو لجنة توثيق تاريخ وبطولات النادي الأهلي وممثله في مشروع توثيق تاريخ كرة القدم السعودية المؤرخ الرياضي عمرو سراج فقيه أن ديربي جدة بين الأهلي والاتحاد يُعد الأقدم على مستوى المملكة من حيث المواجهات الرسمية، ممتداً على مدار 70 عاماً من التنافس.
وأوضح فقيه أن انطلاقة مباريات الديربي الرسمية جاءت تزامناً مع بدء البطولات السعودية المعتمدة عام 1377هـ الموافق 1957م، ضمن منافسات دوري كأس الملك، مشيراً إلى أن أول مواجهة رسمية جمعت الفريقين أُقيمت بتاريخ 28 جمادى الأولى 1377هـ.
وبيّن أن إجمالي المواجهات الرسمية بين الفريقين بلغ 191 مباراة، اختُتمت آخرها -حتى تاريخ الرصد- في 17 جمادى الأولى 1447هـ ضمن ذهاب دوري روشن السعودي، والتي انتهت بفوز الأهلي.
وأشار إلى أن الأهلي يتفوق تاريخياً بتحقيقه 73 انتصاراً، مقابل 62 فوزاً للاتحاد، فيما حضر التعادل في 56 مواجهة، وذلك استناداً إلى البطولات الرسمية التي جرى اعتمادها والمصادقة عليها ضمن مشروع توثيق تاريخ كرة القدم السعودية عام 2025.
وأكد فقيه أن هذه الأرقام تعكس عمق التنافس بين الناديين، ومكانة ديربي جدة في الذاكرة الرياضية السعودية، باعتباره أحد أبرز وأقدم المواجهات الكروية في تاريخ المسابقات المحلية.
وكشف عضو لجنة توثيق تاريخ وبطولات النادي الأهلي تفاصيل واقعة الانسحاب الشهيرة في ديربي جدة بين الأهلي والاتحاد، إلى جانب تسجيل الأهلي رقماً قياسياً غير مسبوق في تاريخ المواجهات بين الفريقين.
وبيّن فقيه أن واقعة الانسحاب حدثت يوم الإثنين 22 رجب 1388هـ الموافق 14 أكتوبر 1968م ضمن مسابقة الدوري، إذ انتهت المباراة ميدانياً بتقدم الأهلي بنتيجة 4-2، قبل أن تُثبت النتيجة رسمياً 4-0 وفقاً للائحة المعمول بها آنذاك عقب الانسحاب.
وأشار إلى أن تلك المباراة جاءت ضمن سلسلة تاريخية حقق خلالها الأهلي 9 انتصارات متتالية على الاتحاد، امتدت من سبتمبر 1967م وحتى سبتمبر 1970م، في إنجاز وصفه بأنه رقم قياسي محلياً وعالمياً على مستوى مواجهات الديربي.
وأوضح بأن نتائج المباريات الـ9 المتتالية جاءت على النحو التالي:
3-1، 2-1، 4-0 (انسحاب)، 2-0، 1-0، 4-0، 3-1، 2-0، 3-2، ما يعكس التفوق الفني الذي حققه الأهلي خلال تلك المرحلة التاريخية.
وأكد فقيه أن هذه الأرقام موثقة ضمن مشروع توثيق تاريخ كرة القدم السعودية، وتعكس عمق التنافس بين الناديين، ومكانة ديربي جدة كأحد أعرق وأبرز المواجهات في تاريخ الرياضة السعودية.
Amro Siraj Faqih, a member of the Committee for Documenting the History and Achievements of Al-Ahli Club and its representative in the project to document the history of Saudi football, confirmed that the Jeddah Derby between Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad is the oldest in the Kingdom in terms of official matches, extending over 70 years of competition.
Faqih explained that the official derby matches began coinciding with the start of the approved Saudi championships in the year 1377 AH, corresponding to 1957 AD, as part of the King’s Cup League competitions, noting that the first official match between the two teams took place on the 28th of Jumada al-Awwal 1377 AH.
He indicated that the total number of official matches between the two teams reached 191, with the latest match – up to the date of this report – taking place on the 17th of Jumada al-Awwal 1447 AH in the first leg of the Roshen Saudi League, which ended with Al-Ahli’s victory.
He pointed out that historically, Al-Ahli has the upper hand with 73 victories, compared to 62 wins for Al-Ittihad, while there were 56 draws, based on the official championships that were approved and validated as part of the project to document the history of Saudi football in 2025.
Faqih affirmed that these numbers reflect the depth of competition between the two clubs and the significance of the Jeddah Derby in the Saudi sports memory, as it is considered one of the most prominent and oldest football encounters in the history of local competitions.
He revealed details of the famous withdrawal incident in the Jeddah Derby between Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad, alongside Al-Ahli setting an unprecedented record in the history of encounters between the two teams.
Faqih explained that the withdrawal incident occurred on Monday, the 22nd of Rajab 1388 AH, corresponding to October 14, 1968 AD, during the league competition, where the match ended on the field with Al-Ahli leading 4-2, before the result was officially recorded as 4-0 according to the regulations in effect at that time following the withdrawal.
He noted that this match was part of a historical series during which Al-Ahli achieved 9 consecutive victories over Al-Ittihad, extending from September 1967 to September 1970, in an achievement he described as a local and global record in derby encounters.
He clarified that the results of the 9 consecutive matches were as follows:
3-1, 2-1, 4-0 (withdrawal), 2-0, 1-0, 4-0, 3-1, 2-0, 3-2, reflecting the technical superiority that Al-Ahli achieved during that historical phase.
Faqih confirmed that these numbers are documented within the project to document the history of Saudi football, reflecting the depth of competition between the two clubs and the status of the Jeddah Derby as one of the most prestigious and prominent encounters in the history of Saudi sports.
