أكد رئيس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم جياني إنفانتينو أنه يجب طرد اللاعبين الذين يغطون أفواههم عند التحدث إلى الخصوم أثناء المواجهات.
وأضاف إنفانتينو لشبكة «سكاي نيوز»: «على الحكام أن ينطلقوا من افتراض أن اللاعبين قد قالوا»شيئاً لا ينبغي لهم قوله«.
وقال إنفانتينو إنه ينبغي التعامل مع الحالات الفردية من قبل الهيئات المعنية، لكن كرة القدم بشكل عام يجب أن تتحرك وتكون حاسمة لإدخال شيء له»تأثير رادع«.
وأضاف:»تمت مناقشة هذه القضية في الاجتماع السنوي للجمعية العمومية لمجلس الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم في ويلز في نهاية هذا الأسبوع«.
وأكمل:»تم الاتفاق على إجراء مشاورات لوضع تدابير لمنع اللاعبين من إخفاء ما قد يقولونه للخصم«.
وأوضح إنفانتينو:»إذا قام لاعب بتغطية فمه وقال شيئاً ما وكان لهذا عواقب عنصرية فيجب طرده بالطبع”.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed that players who cover their mouths when speaking to opponents during confrontations should be sent off.
Infantino added to Sky News: “Referees should operate under the assumption that players have said ‘something they shouldn’t have said’.”
He stated that individual cases should be addressed by the relevant authorities, but football in general must move decisively to introduce something with a “deterrent effect.”
He continued: “This issue was discussed at the annual meeting of the FIFA Congress in Wales at the end of this week.”
He added: “It was agreed to consult on measures to prevent players from hiding what they might say to the opponent.”
Infantino explained: “If a player covers their mouth and says something that has racist consequences, they should be sent off, of course.”
