واصل مدرب نادي الرياض، الأوروغوياني دانيال كارينيو، ابتعاده عن تحقيق الانتصار منذ توليه القيادة الفنية للفريق، إذ لم يتمكن حتى الآن من تحقيق أي فوز خلال 7 مباريات متتالية خاضها الفريق تحت إشرافه في منافسات الموسم الجاري.
وكان نادي الرياض قد أعلن رسمياً تعاقده مع المدرب الأوروغوياني دانيال كارينيو بتاريخ 14 نوفمبر 2025، ليقود الفريق فنياً بدايةً من الجولة التاسعة من دوري روشن السعودي لموسم 2025–2026، في مواجهة قوية أمام الاتحاد، انتهت بالخسارة بنتيجة (2-1).
ومنذ تلك المواجهة، خاض الرياض سبع مباريات تحت قيادة كارينيو، جاءت نتائجها على النحو التالي:
• الخسارة أمام الاتحاد (2-1)
• الخسارة أمام الاتفاق (2-0)
• الخسارة أمام الحزم (2-1)
• الخسارة أمام القادسية (4-0)
• التعادل أمام الفيحاء (1-1)
• الخسارة أمام الفتح (3-1)
• الخسارة أمام التعاون (3-1)
وعكست هذه النتائج استمرار معاناة الفريق على مستوى النتائج، في ظل تراجع الأداء الدفاعي وغياب الحلول الهجومية، إذ استقبل الفريق عدداً كبيراً من الأهداف، مقابل ضعف القدرة على مجاراة المنافسين، ما زاد من الضغوط على الجهاز الفني والإدارة على حد سواء.
ورغم محاولات كارينيو إعادة ترتيب الأوراق فنياً، إلا أن الفريق لم ينجح حتى الآن في ترجمة تلك المحاولات إلى نتائج إيجابية على أرض الملعب، ليبقى البحث عن الانتصار الأول مستمراً، وسط تطلعات جماهير الرياض لتحسن الأداء واستعادة التوازن خلال الجولات القادمة.
وتضع هذه السلسلة السلبية المدرب الأوروغوياني أمام اختبار صعب، خصوصاً في ظل أهمية النقاط خلال هذه المرحلة من الموسم، واحتدام المنافسة في مراكز جدول الترتيب، ما يجعل المواجهات القادمة حاسمة لمستقبل الفريق فنياً.
الجدير بالذكر أن كارينيو سبق أن درّب نادي النصر موسم 2012–2013 وحقق معه الدوري السعودي في موسم 2013–2014، قبل أن يعود لقيادة النصر مجدداً في موسم 2018–2019، ومن ثم قاد الشباب في موسم 2017–2018، وبعدها تولّى تدريب الوحدة في موسم 2019–2020، ثم عاد لقيادته مرة أخرى في موسم 2024–2025، كما قاد الحزم خلال موسم 2023–2024.

Al-Riyadh Club officially announced its contract with the Uruguayan coach Daniel Carreño on November 14, 2025, to lead the team technically starting from the ninth round of the Roshen Saudi League for the 2025–2026 season, in a strong match against Al-Ittihad, which ended in a loss with a score of (2-1).
Since that match, Al-Riyadh has played seven matches under Carreño’s leadership, with the results as follows:
• Loss to Al-Ittihad (2-1)
• Loss to Al-Ettifaq (2-0)
• Loss to Al-Hazm (2-1)
• Loss to Al-Qadisiyah (4-0)
• Draw with Al-Fayha (1-1)
• Loss to Al-Fateh (3-1)
• Loss to Al-Taawun (3-1)
These results reflect the team’s ongoing struggles in terms of results, amid a decline in defensive performance and a lack of offensive solutions, as the team has conceded a large number of goals, while struggling to keep up with their opponents, which has increased the pressure on both the coaching staff and the management.
Despite Carreño’s attempts to rearrange the technical aspects, the team has not yet succeeded in translating those efforts into positive results on the field, leaving the search for the first victory ongoing, amidst the hopes of Al-Riyadh fans for improved performance and regaining balance in the upcoming rounds.
This negative streak places the Uruguayan coach in a difficult position, especially given the importance of points during this stage of the season and the intense competition for positions in the standings, making the upcoming matches crucial for the team’s technical future.
It is worth noting that Carreño previously coached Al-Nassr during the 2012–2013 season and won the Saudi League with them in the 2013–2014 season, before returning to lead Al-Nassr again in the 2018–2019 season. He also coached Al-Shabab in the 2017–2018 season, then took over Al-Wahda in the 2019–2020 season, and returned to lead them again in the 2024–2025 season, as well as coaching Al-Hazm during the 2023–2024 season.
