أثارت كيم يو جونغ شقيقة زعيم كوريا الشمالية كيم جونغ أون اهتمام وسائل الإعلام العالمية بعد ظهورها ممسكة بهاتف قابل للطي أثناء تفقدها مستشفى حديث الافتتاح. ووفق تقرير لموقع «ساوث تشاينا مورنينغ بوست»، يبدو الهاتف من نوع «هونر ماجيك في 3» الصيني الفاخر، الذي يتجاوز سعره 1300 دولار، ما يجعله بعيداً عن متناول غالبية المواطنين في بيونغ يانغ.
ويعرف عن عائلة كيم عشقها للأجهزة التقنية الراقية، إذ استخدم الزعيم على مر السنوات أجهزة «آبل» متعددة، من «آيباد» إلى «ماك بوك»، وحتى هواتف قابلة للطي خلال إطلاق اختبارات صاروخية في 2023.
الهاتف الذي ظهرت به كيم يو جونغ يأتي بشاشتين، داخلية 7.92 بوصة وخارجية 6.43 بوصة، مع معالج «سناب دراغون 8 جين 3» الرائد وكاميرا خلفية ثلاثية العدسات بدقة تصل إلى 50 ميغابكسل، ليشكل بذلك قفزة نوعية في الأجهزة المحمولة، حتى مقارنة بأحدث هواتف «سامسونغ» القابلة للطي.
ولا يقتصر الجدل على الفخامة، فامتلاك الهاتف قد يخالف قرارات مجلس الأمن الدولي التي تمنع توريد المعدات الكهربائية لكوريا الشمالية، في ظل مخاوف تتعلق بعائدات العملة الأجنبية ونقل التكنولوجيا. ويشير خبراء إلى أن النخبة في بيونغ يانغ تتجاوز هذه القيود بطرق غير رسمية للحصول على أحدث الهواتف العالمية، في حين تظل الهواتف المحلية مزودة بتطبيقات مراقبة صارمة تتتبع استخدام المستخدمين وتبلغ السلطات بشكل دوري.

The phone that Kim Yo-jong was seen with features two screens, an internal 7.92-inch display and an external 6.43-inch display, along with a flagship “Snapdragon 8 Gen 3” processor and a triple-lens rear camera with a resolution of up to 50 megapixels, representing a significant leap in mobile devices, even compared to the latest foldable phones from “Samsung.”
The controversy is not limited to luxury; owning the phone may violate United Nations Security Council resolutions that prohibit the supply of electrical equipment to North Korea, amid concerns regarding foreign currency revenues and technology transfer. Experts indicate that the elite in Pyongyang circumvent these restrictions informally to obtain the latest global phones, while local phones remain equipped with strict monitoring applications that track user activity and report to the authorities periodically.
