تفوق الأهلي على مستضيفه وجاره الاتحاد بهدف دون مقابل، في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على ملعب الإنماء بمدينة الملك عبدالله الرياضية بجدة، في ختام لقاءات الجولة الثامنة من دوري روشن السعودي للمحترفين.
شهد اللقاء سيطرة متبادلة بين الفريقين، ومالت الأفضلية في الشوط الأول للاتحاد الذي حاول في أكثر من كرة، ولكن صلابة ثنائي الدفاع إيبانيز وديميرال حالت دون ذلك، وكاد فرانك كيسيه يمنح الأهلي التقدم، بعد أن تسلّم كرة داخل منطقة الجزاء الاتحادية وسددها قوية، لكنها ارتطمت في القائم.
وفي الشوط الثاني، فرض الأهلي سيطرته مبكراً، ومن هجمة منظمة قادها كيسيه من الجهة اليمنى لعب كرة عرضية أرضية لزميله رياض محرز، الذي خدع قلبَي الدفاع كادش وبيريرا ليواجه الحارس رايكوفيتش ويضعها بقدمه اليسرى في المرمى هدفاً للأهلي (د:55)، ليتراجع أداء الأهلي ويعتمد على الهجمات المرتدة، مع محاولات اتحادية لتعديل النتيجة، وكانت أخطر تلك المحاولات رأسية المدافع بيريرا، لكن الحارس إدوارد ميندي تمكن من التصدي لها ببراعة، لينتهي اللقاء بفوز الأهلي بهدف دون مقابل.
وبهذه النتيجة، يحقق الأهلي فوزه الرابع ويصل للنقطة الـ16 في المركز الخامس، فيما تلقى الاتحاد الخسارة الثالثة وتجمد رصيده عند 11 نقطة في المركز الثامن، وفي الجولة القادمة التي ستقام بعد أسبوعين يستضيف الأهلي نظيره القادسية، فيما يستضيف الاتحاد الرياض.
Al-Ahli triumphed over their host and neighbor Al-Ittihad with a score of one goal to none, in the match that took place at the Al-Inma Stadium in King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, concluding the eighth round of the Roshen Saudi Professional League.
The match witnessed a back-and-forth control between the two teams, with Al-Ittihad having the upper hand in the first half as they attempted several times to score. However, the solid defense duo of Ibanez and Demiral prevented that. Frank Kessie nearly gave Al-Ahli the lead after receiving a ball inside the Al-Ittihad penalty area and striking it powerfully, but it hit the post.
In the second half, Al-Ahli imposed their control early on, and from an organized attack led by Kessie from the right side, he delivered a low cross to his teammate Riyad Mahrez, who deceived the center-backs Kadash and Pereira to face goalkeeper Rajkovic and placed it with his left foot into the net, scoring for Al-Ahli (55th minute). Al-Ahli’s performance then declined as they relied on counter-attacks, while Al-Ittihad made attempts to equalize, with the most dangerous being a header from defender Pereira, but goalkeeper Edward Mendy managed to brilliantly save it, ending the match with Al-Ahli winning by one goal to none.
With this result, Al-Ahli achieves their fourth victory, reaching 16 points in fifth place, while Al-Ittihad suffers their third loss, remaining at 11 points in eighth place. In the upcoming round, which will take place in two weeks, Al-Ahli will host Al-Qadisiyah, while Al-Ittihad will host Al-Riyadh.
